Types of File Cabinets:
Metal file cabinets: Traditionally used file cabinet is metal file cabinets. These cabinets are sturdy and will last for long time if properly maintained. Most of the business and government organization still use these types of cabinets because of its durability. Earlier they are available in traditional single dark color, but today they are available in trendy color and design.
Wooden file cabinets: Wood file cabinets are very durable. Traditionally they were custom made by a local carpenter. Today readymade wooden file cabinets are available to buy from. Wood file cabinets come in a variety of colors. Available in its natural wood pattern and laminated with vibrant color. Dark and fashionable espresso-colored wood is perfect for a modern life-style.
Trolley file cabinets: These lightweight file cabinets are perfect for short-term storage. Trolley file cabinet is not as strong as metal cabinet but it is safe enough to protect your document. Being wheel enabled you can drag it to your desired place. These are limited size cabinets. Before buying check its wheel quality.
Vertical file cabinets: The vertical file cabinets looks like stacked drawers. Since it has sliding out drawer they may be available in high depth drawer. Its file storage capacity is most vital for any office. Alternatively you can add more cabinets side by side such that it is a single unit. Most vertical file cabinets have three to six drawers that make it easy to organize and separate your files and folders.
Lateral file cabinets: A lateral file cabinet is like Vertical file cabinet except they are wider and shorter in depth. Also known as horizontal file cabinets, they usually store files side-to-side instead of front-to-back. A lateral file cabinet gives an extra top surface that allows you to store additional office supplies or to add decorations.
Plastic file cabinets: These are light weight, attractive, trendy colored file cabinets. They are cheaper but are not as sturdy as there counterpart steel or wood. Plastic file cabinets are used for temporary alternative to other cabinet to store files and documents.
